This is the dial-up equipment I'd hounded Brian to take with him on his Arizona camping trip. My cell phone, a cigarette-lighter plug that doesn't fit in Brian's phone, and a DC to AC power inverter (so he could boot up his laptop in the truck with the engine running & check his email). I nagged him not to forget this mound of techno-junk so that we could be sweethearts in touch by email. Little did I realize that my nagging would rescue my Varuna writing retreat from certain disaster.
